Group Recruitment Pilots

West Atlantic is Europe’s most trusted provider of safe, efficient and environmentally sound, cargo aircraft solutions to the European Express and Mail industry.

We are a fast growing, all cargo airline Group with Head Office in Göteborg, Sweden and business centres in both the U.K. and Luxembourg.

Comprised of our three established airlines of West Air Sweden, West Air Luxembourg and Atlantic Airlines including two fully capable, in-house Part 145 Maintenance providers and a Training Organisation, together our Group employs some 450 dedicated professionals.

Currently our fleet numbers around 50 aircraft and, in 2010, we performed approximately 25,000 flights, serving 47 scheduled flight points in an network supported by 4 Base Maintenance facilities located at Malmö, Oslo, Coventry, Isle of Man and a setup of 11 remotely located Line Stations.

Our customer activity is divided approximately 50% by serving the Integrated Express parcel carries such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, TNT, ChronoPost and 50% in the service of National Mail organisations such as Swedish Post, Posten Norway and Royal Mail.

General information referring Pilot Positions:  

We have pilot bases across continental Europe and the UK.  

Applicants are requested to provide means of self-funding the type-rating cost which totals €17,500 on the BAe ATP.

The Group will sponsor the Company specific courses.  

The typerating training normally takes 4-6 weeks, followed by simulator check and linetraining. 

Employment date is equivalent to first day of line-training. 

Technical Requirements:

Valid CPL / IR / ME

MCC & ATPL Theory

Valid Class One Medical

ICAO Level 4+ English standards

Full unrestricted Passport providing the ability to permanently live and work in the EU and travel worldwide

Recruitment process:

Those selected will be invited to an interview. Those successful at this stage will be scheduled a simulator proficiency check and psychometric testing.

Those passed will thereafter be offered a starting date for the type-rating normally scheduled to take place in our own facilities in Malmoe, Sweden, and with the simulator sessions in Copenhagen, Denmark. 

Vacant position: Ground Operations Manager for the West Atlantic Group

West Atlantic is looking for a GOM responsible for the group, including the 3 airlines West Air Luxembourg, West Air Sweden and Atlantic Airlines.

Your scope of responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the below:

  • Performance of functions and activities within the scope of ground handling operations, such as: cargo and mail handling, aircraft handling, load control, de-icing and fuelling
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts with 3rd parties in reference to GOM’s area of responsibilities
  • Keep the ground operations Manual current and distributed to all relevant parties together with the DGR documentation and is also responsible to ensure all involved personnel receive training in DGR
  • Auditing contracted parties to monitor compliance with EASA OPS, AEA, IATA and ICAO standards
  • Responsible for having a quality system that provides for auditing of functions within ground handling operations
  • Responsible for managing all reports withing his scope of responsibilities and having a process for addressing findings resulting from audits of functions within ground handling operations
  • Ensure that personnel who perform operational duties in functions within the scope of ground handling operations for the group receive necessary training, including familiarizarion courses with newly employed and contracted flight crew
  • Responsible for the ground operational information being published in the Pilot Manual and publish CCS referring the same 

Qualifications:

You need to have previous experience from the same function within aviation.

You must have documented administrative competence.

English being our group language you need to be fluent in English.

The position is conditioned by you being approved by the authorities.
